As a vital component of the community’s infrastructure, MediSys Health Network stands ready to respond to emergency situations that affect the community and is committed to insuring our facilities will function under extreme circumstances. At the core of the MediSys Health Network preparedness strategy is the priority placed on sustaining operational continuity, combined with the agility to meet the changing needs of the community during a crisis. These elements are achieved through maintaining situational awareness and a forward-leaning posture toward emergency response.
The Department of Emergency Management is responsible for developing and maintaining the Emergency Management Program and the Emergency Operations Plan, which together constitute the framework for the organization’s response to emergencies.
The extensive experience and recourses of the Emergency Management department ensures that MediSys Health Network is fully capable of preparing for and responding to disasters. In addition to developing and implementing emergency response plans, the department conducts training and exercises, promotes community awareness through outreach, and responds to disaster events.
Emergency Management maintains equipment and supplies necessary in emergency and disaster situations. These include a communications cache, patient evacuation equipment, personal safety supplies, portable biotelemetry systems, incident command tracking boards, and staff support supplies. MediSys Health Network also has assets utilized for disaster deployments such as mobile medical command centers, ambulances, and numerous other support and specialty vehicles.
